Objectives
“So, you want to be a Doctor..?” is different from other courses for medical applicants in that it is interactive and focuses on practising skills and developing ideas through intellectual enquiry.
Students frequently comment on how it is original and doesn’t go over material already covered by their careers department or other courses.
This course will help students to:
- Understand what the interviewer is looking for
- Express themselves confidently using excellent interpersonal skills
- Support their answers with evidence and objective justification
- Demonstrate an awareness of the issues and realities of this career
- Find original angles for discussion to stand out from the crowd
Students will be provided with advice and guidance about:
- How to use every question to their advantage
- What to expect and how to handle it
- How to write an impressive personal statement
- How to continue preparation after the course
Students will have the opportunity to:
- Examine topical issues that they are likely to be asked about
- Improve communication and decision-making skills
- Consider practical situations and moral dilemmas
- Explore ideas for how to gain more experience
- Practise in a supportive environment
